Every conversation about electric cars in Romania reaches the same question within minutes: where do you charge it. Restart Energy and Renault answered with a road trip around the whole country, and we documented it, working through McCann PR.
Christian Gernemann drove around Romania in an electric Renault ZOE, on a tour meant to set a Guinness record. A foreigner's eye makes familiar roads look new, for us as much as for him.
We told the tour through a manifesto film and a series of episodes: mountains, traditional villages, big cities and the Black Sea coast. The Restart Energy charging stations were part of every stage, the difficult days included.
Infrastructure becomes real when people see it used on the road. Seen from that car, Romania looked ready for electric driving.
